a. What do you mean by blood circulation ? Name the various parts of the circulatory system.
Ans: Blood Circulation is the process of transportation of oxygenated blood to different parts of the body from heart. The various parts of the circulatory system are: blood, blood vessel and heart.
b. What is the importance of blood circulation ?
Ans: The importance of blood circulation are as follows ;
- It helps ber transportation of food and oxygen.
- It helps to maintain body temperature and amount of water.
c. What is blood? List its various Components and mention their function.
Ans: Blood is a fluid connective tissue which consist of 55% plasma and 45% blood cells.
- Plasma: It transport digested bood, hormones and helps to regulate body temperature.
- Blood cells: It carry oxygen, regulates body temperature and help in clotting of blood.
d. Mention the different functions of blood.
Ans: The different functions of blood are as follows;
- To transport oxygen and nutrients to all body parts.
- To regulate body temperature and amount of water.
- To protect body from different types of diseases.
e. What is plasma and why is it important?
Ans: Plasma is a transparent, pale yellowish fluid found in blood cells. It is important because it the transport digested food to different organs and tissues of the body.
f. What exchange take place between blood Capillaries and tissues ?
Ans: Oxygen and Carbon dioxide exchange take place between blood capillaries and tissues. When oxygenated blood reaches the tissue, oxygen moves from blood toward the tissues and Carbon dioxide moves from tissues toward the blood.
g. What are pulmonary and systematic circulations?
Ans: Pulmonary circulation is the circulation of blood from the right ventricles to the lungs and from the lungs to the left atrium.
Systematic Circulation is the circulation of blood from the left ventricle to the right auricle through different parts of the body except the lungs.
h. Write the function of different types of blood vessels bound in the heart?
Ans: The function of different types of blood blood vessels found in the heart follows:
Veins = It carries deoxygenated blood from different body parts to the heart.
Capillaries = It connect arteries and veins.
Arteries = It carries oxygenated blood away from the heart.
i. What do you mean by heart beat rate? When does it increase?
Ans: Heart beat rate is the total number of contractions per of the heart per minute.
The heart beat rates increases during exercise and excidement.
j. Write any three symptoms and three preventive measures of uric acid.
Ans: The three symptoms and three Preventive measures of uric acid are as follows;
Symptoms
- Severe pain in joints.
- Difficult moving affected joints.
- Redness and Swelling

- More dairy product should be used.
- The victims should drink plenty of water.
- Use of lemon juice with hot water reduces uric acid.

l. What is high blood Pressure ? What are its Causes? How can we prevent from high blood pressure?
Ans: If the blood pressure is more than normal, it is called high blood pressure. Its causes are smoking excessive consumption of alcohol, lack of exercise etc.” We can prevent high blood pressure by maintaining proper weight, avoiding smoking etc.
3. Differentiate Between:
a. RBCs and WBCs
Ans: The difference between RBCs and WBCs are as follows:

Ans: The differences between pulmonary artery and pulmonary veins are as follows;

Ans: The differences between Tricuspid and mitral Valve are as follows;

a. Blood is red in colour.
Ans: Blood is red in colour because of the presence haemoglobin which contain iron due to which blood carry oxygen.
b. The left ventricle possess a thicker wall than that of the right ventricle.
Ans: The left ventricle possess a thicker wall than that of the right ventricle because the right ventricle has low pressure but left ventricle has high pressure as it pump our blood upto a very long distance inside our body.
c. The arteries are thicker than the veins.
Ans: The arteries are thicker than the veins because the arteries carry oxygenated blood and artery experiences a high pressure as blood is pumped from the heart.
d. There are no valves in the arteries.
Ans: There are no valves in the artery because artery don’t require valve as pressure from the heart is so big strong that blood flow in only one direction.
e. Blood in the pulmonary artery is violet and it is scarlet in the pulmonary vein.
Ans: Blood in the pulmonary artery is violet and it is scarlet in the pulmonary vein because pulmonary artery carry deoxygenated blood and pulmonary veins carry oxygenated blood. The colour of oxygenated blood is scarlet.
f. The rate of heart beat increase during exercise.
Ans: The rate of heart beat increase during exercise because during exercise the heart beat per minute and the amount of blood pumped per beat increases.
g. Plasma is a very important component of the blood.
Ans: Plasma is a very important component of the blood because plasma carry nutrients, hormones and protein to other parts of our body.
h. WBCs increases in blood.
Ans: WBCs increase in blood because the increased WBCs helps to fight against viruses.
i. RBCs decreases in blood.
Ans: RBCs decreases in blood due to viruses which makes person sick.
j. Donated blood is mixed with sodium citrate.
Ans: Donated blood is mixed with sodium citrate because to remove fibrinogen to avoid blood clotting as sodium citrate works as an anticoagulant.
Systematic circulation means the circulation of blood between the heart and different parts of body expect the lungs not heart.
