In class 12 chemistry we have to study about Ionic Equilibrium which comes under General and Physical Chemistry. Students can easily study about Limitation of Arrhenius concepts of acids and bases, Bronsted -Lowry definition of acids and bases, Relative strength of acids and bases, Conjugate acid -base pairs, Lewis definition of acids and bases etc if they have proper notes. So, inorder to help you in your studies we have provided the complete notes PDF of Ionic Equilibrium chapter.
Ionic Equilibrium Class 12 Chemistry Notes PDF contains all the handwritten notes which includes important questions as well as syllabus based study material. You can download the notes PDF for personal use.
Unit – 2
Ionic Equilibrium
The chemical substances which get ionized in aqueous solution and in their molten state are called electrolytes. Electrolytes can conduct electricity due to the migration of its ions towards oppositely charged electrodes. Depending upon the extent of ionization, electrolytes are classified into strong electrolytes and weak electrolytes.
Strong electrolytes are completely ionized in aqueous solution while weak electrolytes are feebly ionized in aqueous solution. Ionic reactions of weak electrolyte are reversible in nature and there exists dynamic equilibrium between the unionized molecules and its ion and such equilibrium is known as ionic equilibrium.
In this unit, we study about the electrolytes, concept of acids and bases, pH and hydrolysis of salts etc.
Key Objectives
When you have finished studying this unit, you should able to;
- understand Arrhenius, Bronsted-Lowry, Lewis concept of acid and base and their limitations.
- explain Ostwald’s dilution law.
- know lonic product of water and dissociation constant of acid and base.
- understand pH and pH scale.
- explain common ion effect, solubility product and their application.
- know buffer solution and its application.
- understand indicators and its selection in acid base titration.
- explain different types of salt and hydrolysis of different types of salts.
Now let’s move on to the notes of this chapter. The PDF given below contains all the notes that is required from this chapter. We request students to use the notes of ionic equilibrium chapter to prepare for their board examination.
You have to scroll the PDF to view all the notes of ionic equilibrium. This PDF contains 33 slides in total which is enough to get prepared for ionic equilibrium chapter. If you want to make extra preparation then you can practice class 12 chemistry model questions which will help you to know the questions pattern of board exam.
