Chapter – 16
System of Linear Equations
The Gauss-Jordan method is a systematic procedure used to solve systems of linear equations. It is an extension of the Gaussian elimination method and involves transforming a given matrix into its reduced row echelon form (RREF). This method eliminates variables step by step, ultimately reducing the system to a form where the solution can be directly read off.
In the Gauss-Jordan method, the process starts with converting the augmented matrix of the system into an upper triangular form through a series of row operations, such as swapping rows, multiplying a row by a non-zero constant, and adding or subtracting multiples of rows.

Gauss Jordan method
A little bit different from Gauss Elimination method, there is another method of solving linear simultaneous equation known as Gauss Jordan method in which the coefficients a11, a22, a33 are made unity and all other coefficients zero.
The chapter covers different methods such as substitution, elimination, and matrix approaches like Gaussian elimination, Cramer’s rule, and using determinants to find solutions. The goal is to find values of the variables that satisfy all the equations simultaneously, which is essential in various real-world applications such as economics, engineering, and physics.
