Volumetric Analysis

Volumetric Analysis falls is the 1st unit of class 12 chemistry. One of the fundamental branches of chemistry is Analytical Chemistry. It deals with the qualitative and quantitative analysis of different substances.

In qualitative analysis, elements and radicals are identified in a given substance using various physical and chemical tests while in quantitative analysis, various operations are performed in order to estimate the relative proportions by weight of different constituents present in the given substance.

The estimation of the relative weight of the constituents are mainly carried out by three operations viz. Gravimetric Analysis and Volumetric Analysis and Instrumental Analysis. We discuss only gravimetric and volumetric analysis in this chapter.
